Regrowing the Great Barrier Reef with Electricity

A conservation group, Reef Ecologic, is trying to regrow the Great Barrier Reef by placing steel frames over damaged parts of the corals and applying electricity to promote growth.

Germany Starts World’s First Hydrogen Powered Train System

The train-making company, Alstom, built two trains for use on German rails that run on hydrogen. Inside of the fuel cells, hydrogen mixes with atmospheric oxygen to create electricity and water. The electricity powers the electric motors and charges up lithium batteries.

First Private Flight to the Moon

SpaceX announced they will fly private passengers to the Moon. The first passenger is, Yusaku Maezawa, and art curator and fashion designer. Recently, Elon Musk tweeted that the 2023 mission will be live-streamed in virtual reality. Here’s his tweet from 18 September:

Hyundai Launches a Hydrogen Fuel Cell Semi Truck

Hyundai and H2 Energy will be building 1,000 hydrogen powered semis for the Swiss market. The vehicles will be available in 2019 and will be supported by a supply chain of renewable hydrogen.
